King Tut became king when he was 9 years old. He died when he was 19. He liked to ride his chariot and hunt. His death has been a big mystery for many years.
First, scientists thought he was murdered with a blow to the back of his head.
Then, after doing CAT Scans on the body, scientists learned his knee was broken really bad. The kneecap was missing and the bone was broken all the way through. That made them think he had been in a bad chariot accident, or even an ax to the knee in battle.
But new information that came from DNA testing shows King Tut had a very severe type of Malaria that probably killed him.
My theory of his broken knee is that he was so sick, he passed out and fell while was riding his chariot.
