Here’s my first layout in I don’t even know how long. While creating the graphics for the various blogs, Diva saw me dipping into my scrapbook stash. She especially liked the kit I used for her blog, and wanted to learn more about digital scrapbooking. So I whipped up a quick layout using the most recent photos of our dog, Peanut, in the snow. I use Photoshop, but Diva uses GIMP (due to license restrictions on my copy of Photoshop, otherwise she’d be using it too), so there is a bit of a learning curve, but she rocks GIMP almost as well as I rock Photoshop. She plans to post her layouts once she has enough to make a slider of them. I will let you know when that happens!
Meanwhile, here’s a layout of our pooch, Peanut, enjoying the snow in her new shirt. I made it from one of my husband’s old turtlenecks. Essentially, I cut down the sleeves, trimmed the bottom, and made a drawstring closure to keep it from getting in her way. She LOVES it. No more frozen belly while chasing the kids through the snow!
Items Used: Kay Miller’s Background & Snowman (color corrected to match better) from her Ice Capades Add-on kit.
Dawn Inskip Brad (color corrected to match) & Gypsy’s Journaling block from the Christmas 2010 blog train at Scrapbook graphics.
Text was written by me using my Wacom Bamboo Tablet.

Yay! I’m scrapping again! A page here, a page there… nothing real consistent… but I think I’ve done more pages this year already then I scrapped all year last year. Go me!
Anyway, these are about my recent foot surgery.

Journaling – June 25, 2010, I had my second foot surgery, this time on my left heel. After not eating all morning, I arrived at the surgery center waiting room, and what did they have playing on the TV? Food Network! Talk about torture! I was so glad when they called me back, I just wanted this done with so I could go home and eat! Dr. D. performed the surgery, & in abt an hour, it was done! Painful bone spur gone. Let the healing begin!

Crutches – Kate Hadfield – Bruises & Breaks

Journaling – Hopefully this will be the last foot surgery I’ll ever need. Afterwards, I was on crutches for two weeks. In that time, Tony took care of everything around the house, plus working his day job. The kids were also a great help. They did whatever I asked, and never complained.. I am so blessed. As much as I dislike using crutches, one thing is for sure. You get a really great arm work-out on those things! My biceps are rawking!
The picture is from July 2009, taken in the Parking lot of the Navy Base while we were waiting for the boat to show up and return our husbands to us.. It’s the only pic i have of us together… mostly because I don’t like having my picture taken. Still not sure how she talked me into taking this one. *S*

I couldn’t find anything I liked in my stash, so I made something. Maybe I’ll put this “Zoo-licious” kit together and post it up here this weekend… but for right now, I must get some sleep!
Of course I had to do something with that cute Prehistoric kit.

Goodbye is such a big part of our life. I just felt the need to do something with the emotion.
The hardest thing about being your wife, is having to watch you walk away.
Sometimes it seems that I am destined to watch you walk away for the rest of my life. Those first few hours without you, knowing you won’t be back for days/weeks/months, those are the the hardest. Eventually, I pull it together, & life moves on. But I will always miss you while you are gone. I feel your love, your support even from an ocean away, but I crave your arms around me. You are my soft place to fall. My rock when the world seems to be against me. I miss not having you here, with me, but I understand why you must go. So go. Honor, Courage, & Commitment.
Hurry home. We need you.
your loving wife

GeekBoy has decided to play soccer. This is a big step for him, this getting off the computer and going outside. *S* But the registration has been paid, the chin guards bought, there’s no backing out now!
Most of this layout came from “MVP” by Dani Mogstad @ Sweet Shoppe Designs. The soccer ball bkg I used for a photo matte is from Heather Roselli’s “Sports-Soccer”, also @ Sweet Shoppe Designs. Word art came from “And I Quote… Athletes” by Manda Bean, and the note paper is by MandaBean, found in a TwoScoops kit, “Boys & their Toys” by Manda Bean & Zoe Pearn, at, you guessed it, Sweet Shoppe Designs.
The stitching on the ribbon (recolored to match) came from a Miss Mint kit, I think it was “Foxy Lady”. The knot at the begining of the ribbon is a Christina Renee (extraced from a star, and recolored to match) blog freebie. I also used some “Picture Blankets” versions I & II by Traci Reed. The journalling font is one of my favs, Angelina.
Feels good to scrap again. Now i just need to carve out more time for this.
I know. I’m still amazed myself. But here it is:
The background is a mashup of papers from the collab kit by ManadaBean and Zoe Pearn – Toys for Boys
The pwned badge, photo frame, game controller and one of the stains were also from Toys for Boys.
The grunge and various stains were brushes from Adobe exchange.
Duct tape comes from Maya’s (of Scrapbook graphics) Dumpster Diving.
Note paper is courtesy of Linda Gil Billdal’s Stationeries.
Date marker is from Misty Cato’s Date Bits 5. (Blog freebie, may not be available anymore.)
Journaling was taken from my blog entry at Random Thoughts.
This is somewhat of a process for me. Slowly getting back into scrapping. At first, I had only written two or thee sentences. That’s so not me! I’m such a writer! But I realize that it will take time to get back into layout design. So I snagged the post from my blog, and used that. It turned out nice.
