Summer hair cuts

The geek has a thing about people, especially strangers, touching his head.  Because of this, we’ve made a deal.  He can grow his hair out all winter long, but he has to get it cut in the spring and summer.  He can deal with this.  For him, this means one, maybe two haircuts a year, depending on how long we hold out at the begining of spring.

Before the torture session

So today, with the temps in the 80s, it was finally time.  The Geek was dragged kicking and screaming got in the car with minimal grumbling.  Oh he argued a bit, claiming to lo-o-ove his long hair, but Mama always wins.  Always. ThePinkDiva, after playing outside in the heat for 15 minutes, was ready to do something a bit more drastic then her usual.  Big Boy was just excited to be leaving the house.

Nice Cool Heads prevailed

Lookie, lookie!  The difference is so awesome, it’s like I have three new children.

As a treat for behaving, we all went to playground just across the parking lot and behind the grocery store.  They played. They slid.  They swung.  It was decided that the short hair was great for outside play.  And I promise I did not say, “See!  I told you so!”
