Oops! My Muslim is showing…

2010 August 14
Comments Off

So, Friday, BigO stuck his big foot in his big mouth in support of the Ground Zero Mosque:

Harkening back to earlier times when the building of synagogues or Catholic churches also met with opposition, Obama said: “Time and again, the American people have demonstrated that we can work through these issues, and stay true to our core values and emerge stronger for it. So it must be and will be today.” (source)

Of course that unleashed a poo-storm of dislike, and even FAIL.  So today, he had to “clarify” his earlier remarks:

President Obama on Saturday sought to clarify his comments supporting the building of a mosque near ground zero that have ignited a political firestorm ahead of a difficult election season for Democrats.(source)

He said that he meant they have a right to build wherever because of the 1st Amendment, but not that he supports it.  Of course, he didn’t condemn it either…. Really, his “clarification” boils down to:

“Oops! My Muslim was showing. My bad ya’ll.  Uh…  Um…   Yea… Uh…  I won’t let it happen again…  uh..  for a little while anyway.”

Bow! Bow to him!

Via Chicks On The Right.

Gov. Chris Christie looks a little embarrassed for Big O.  Obama looks like this is all one big joke, that bowing to everyone and anyone, including the Mayor of Tampa and the Governor of New Jersey is just a running gag.

Dude.  Please.  Show some respect for the office you hold.  Damn.

If they can tax it, they’ll legalize it.

The bill would direct the Treasury Department to license and regulate Internet gambling operations, while a companion measure, pending before another committee, would allow the Internal Revenue Service to tax such businesses. Winnings by individuals would also be taxed, as regular gambling winnings are now. The taxes could yield as much as $42 billion for the government over 10 years, supporters said.

What’s next? I know! Let’s legalize Marijuana, that way the government can tax the heck out of it’s sales like they do cigarettes.

Oy vey.

An Open Letter to the GOP

I recently received yet another email begging for money. I can not, in good faith, support the RNC. I didn’t leave the party, the party left me. Many things led up to this conclusion, but the RNC backing of Dede Scozzafava was the last straw.

Do something that proves you will return to the conservatives values America still holds dear. Listen, really listen, to what the Tea Party is asking for. Back politicians that will do what the people want, not old RINOs (Republican In Name Only) just because they’ve been in Congress so long.

Get rid of the caucus. It’s stupid, and can lead to voter intimidation. Make all primaries nationwide a secret ballot. And for Heaven’s sake! Close the ever lovin’ primaries so the Democrats can’t infiltrate our ranks and give us a RINO like John McCain again.

Prove to me that the party is worth supporting, and I will support it again. Until then, you will not see a dime from me.

Affirmative Action hits Wall St.

2010 July 28
Comments Off

A little-noticed section of the Wall Street reform law grants the federal government broad new powers to compel financial firms to hire more women and minorities — an effort at promoting diversity that’s drawing fire from Republicans who say it could lead to de facto hiring quotas.

Deep inside the massive overhaul bill, Congress gives the federal government authority to terminate contracts with any financial firm that fails to ensure the “fair inclusion” of women and minorities, forcing every kind of company from a Wall Street giant to a mom-and-pop law office to account for the composition of its work force.

via Feds demand diversity on Wall Street – Carrie Budoff Brown – POLITICO.com.

But here’s the kicker, Ms. Susan Collins, a RINO from Maine says:

“It is very sweeping, from my review of the legislation,” said Collins, who voted for the bill. “It talks not just about federal offices and agencies. It also talks about contractors and subcontractors, and so the implications are very unclear and can be read to require quotas, and that’s an entirely different and controversial debate and does not belong in the financial bill.”

Then why, why, why did you vote for this monstrosity?!?!  This whole thing is just a mess! This was like HCR 2.0.  Did she even bother to read the bill before she voted for it? If so, why vote yes on something that is full of things like this, that just don’t belong in a financial bill?  ARRGGHH!

There are no clearly defined quotas, or standards of diversity.  It’s up to whoever is in charge of implementing this nonsense – probably another soon-to-be-appointed Czar – to decide whether or not to enforce this Affirmative Action on these companies.  This bit especially gets me:

forcing every kind of company from a Wall Street giant to a mom-and-pop law office to account for the composition of its work force.

So, essentially, if your office doesn’t meet up with some arbitrary idea of what a “diverse workforce” should be, someone needs to get fired so we can hire a different skin tone.  How is that not racism?

And just where is this blatant racism coming from? Not Breitbart or the teaparties. Nope, it’s coming from the Federal Government.

Definitive Reading

Could this be the real reason the mainstream media dropped the Sherrod story like a hot potato last weekend?

Plain as day, Ms. Sherrod says that Bobby Hall, a Sherrod relative, was lynched. As she puts it, describing the actions of the 1940s-era Sheriff Claude Screws: “Claude Screws lynched a black man.”

This is not true. It did not happen.

You must read the whole 5 page article at The American Spectator.  The research and context given is AMAZING!

The same day that our fearless leader, the Big O himself, is out trying to rally support for the DISCLOSE act, and touting the need for even more campaign finance reform…  This story broke on Gateway Pundit

ACORN whistle-blower Anita Moncrief held a press conference today at the Right Online Convention in Las Vegas. She announced today that she will press FEC charges against the Obama Administration for the campaign’s illegal coordination with ACORN during the 2008 election.

Quick! Somebody call the Wah-mbulance!

“We keep hearing that we can’t really do anything about these illegal aliens — Arizona should just deal with it,” said John J. Bouma, Arizona’s lead attorney. “Well, the status quo is simply unacceptable.”

via Hearing on Arizona immigration law begins.

So… let me get this straight…  The Feds tell Arizona “You deal with it! We don’t wanna.”  Then, when Arizona passes a piece of legislation that basically tells the police in the state to enforce federal law and only if they have stopped a person for a crime, and there is reasonable suspicion…  The Feds get their panties in a knot and whine, “but but but!!!  You can’t do that!”

Dude. Read the whole article.  Both pages. It is sooo worth it.
