Works for me Wednesday: Outlook Reminders

I am a SHE.  There.  I said it.  I am so side-tracked, half the time I don’t know where to start.  Laundry is my downfall.  I always forget about it.  Not anymore.  I set up tasks in my Outlook to remind me to put a load in, then a few hours later, it reminds me to put it in the dryer.  A few hours after that it tells me to fold and put it away.

I have another reminder in my calendar that reminds me about trash day.   It reminds me the night before so I can get the can to the curb in time.  I’ve also created lesson planning reminders so that I don’t get swamped at the end of the week trying to plan for next week.  I’ve set up reminders that will tell me when our favorite TV shows come on so I can remember to record them for DH.  I’ve even set reminders for mopping the floor, doing the dishes, cleaning out the fridge, changing the bed sheets, and swiping out the bathrooms.

And most everything is on Outlook Tasks, so as I finish each one, I can check it off, and see it crossed out.  then I get the satisfaction of seeing things crossed out, and knowing that I have indeed accomplished something today.

  1. That’s a great idea – I never would’ve thought to set reminders for those things I’m supposed to remember, but it sure would make it easier to remember to do them! Especially trash day!

My WFMW post today is a “tech” tip too…
